Twice a year I run a 5 week songwriting course called ‘Super-Song-Hang’; running one night a week from 7-8:30pmGMT. Unlike the Creative Beans 1:1 model, the Super-Song-Hang holds the space for you to develop your songwriting skills together with a small group of likeminded creative individuals..

Alongside weekly homework assignments you will have the opportunity (and be encouraged!) to share your songs and ideas with me and the group; there is also a special Discord group to give you the space to share music, homework ideas, inspiration, and anything else, song-wise!

To me, the most important & fundamental detail about the group is that the participants come together to a place of mutual respect, communal support and trust; a space where we are open-hearted and excited to learn from one another, not only sharing musical ideas but our unique life experience, too. The path of a songwriter can be a lonely one, and being part of a community of songwriters & music makers van be most nourishing & up lifting. We are individual artistic voices, and the coming together and sharing of our individual experiences, knowledge, wisdom & advice, is an incredibly valuable tool.

In this course we will refer to Liz Lerman’s Critical Response Process as a template for giving and receiving feedback. This will ensure that each creative participant is never caught off-guard by feedback, and that it always remains relevant to wherever we may be on our artistic journey.

Collaboration can play a very important part in the life of a songwriter, too, so there will be opportunities to work with one another, and hone those co-writing skills.

The course is designed to work both for those who already have a regular practice and would like regular creative top-ups, and those who are new to the practice but are balancing other life commitments or don’t have the time to commit to the Creative Beans Program.

The Super-Song-Hang in a nutshell;

• Join a small and exclusive (max 6) group of like-minded creatives to work on and develop your songwriting skills.

• A friendly and safe space to workshop your songs and ideas, building confidence through shared accountability and regular group calls & meet-ups.

• 6x90 minute group calls including an Introduction session (to get you setup and to meet the other Super-Songsters!), Song Surgeries, sharing sessions, and the rather geeky How to Write a Song - the Songwriting Nuts and Bolts workshop.

• Access to supplementary tutorial videos that help to reinforce techniques & areas covered in the classes.

• All group calls are recorded and can be accessed for the duration of the course.
